Birthday Fun Part II

Happy 1st Birthday Luke!!!

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Luke's first birthday! We are so blessed to have family that were able to come out and be with us. Mom DB and Andrea had to head back to WA on Saturday, April 10 so we celebrated Luke's birthday on Friday night. We had a delicious meal, courtesy of Mom DB via Andrea ;). Then enjoyed cake and, of course, presents. Luke relished in being the center of attention (as if he didn't get enough attention the entire week family was out here). I'm pretty sure he knew it was his special day. We can't believe that we are the parents of a one year old already! We are trying to force time to slow down a bit but aren't having much luck at commanding the cosmos so we have to settle to slow down ourselves and delight in every minute we have with Luke. He is such a gift and we absolutely love being his parents. Here's to looking forward to all the years to come!

Luke wasn't quite sure what to make of everyone singing to him
Our little family
Luke was ready to dig into his cake and couldn't be bothered to smile at the camera.
Luke didn't want to be put back in his booster seat for cake at first but once he had his first taste he relented
Mmmmmm. Sugar.
He had a nice frosting mustache working for him
Happy birthday Lukey Boy!
We LOVE you!!
All smiles and claps after cake... onto the presents!

Luke had smeared cake and frosting on his pants so rather than change his outfit we just took 'em off. That'd be why he's sporting just a diaper in these pics.
Lovin' the shiny ribbon
Luke got a baseball toy from Grannie Jannie and Pops
His own puppy (in spite of daddy) from Katy (T-T)
Again, lovin' the ribbon
Books and puzzles from Grammie DB

Mom T made Luke his own book, complete with pictures of all the people who love him (well, not all the people who love him- that would be an extremely lengthy book- but lots of the people who love him)

What a special gift. (both the book and Luke) *tear
Luke's first set of golf shoes.
(slippers actually. Grannie Jannie had to cut out most of the stuffing to make them fit on Luke's chubby feet)
Stud
Done already? I was just getting warmed up

It was such a blessing to be there to celebrate Luke's BD with you! He is such a joy! We loved his hugs and smiles and miss him very much...and we miss you and your hugs and smiles, too.
We love you all ~
