DeBoer Christmas 08

I am just now getting around to posting our Christmas pictures, better late than never I guess. We had a wonderful time with Matt's family over the Christmas holidays. Mom DeBoer, Andrea, and Eric all flew in (Eric came in from Atlanta, Mom and Andrea from Washington.) We were so thankful that Mom and Andrea flew from Bellingham not Seattle. If they had flown out of Seatac they probably wouldn't have made it thanks to all the snow and issues at the airport (running out of de-icer and food!) We had a nice, relaxing time filled with lots of game playing, talking, eating, etc. We attempted a day in Los Angeles - first plan was to go to the Museum of Tolerance but that was closed. So we decided to head to the Getty Museum but there must've been some event going on that we were unaware of because it was a nightmere trying to even get into the parking lot, so we scrapped that and went to Starbucks instead. Thanks to Matt's studnets we are set with Starbucks giftcards for quite some time. We walked around a bit and saw an Improv Comedy show at Comedy Sportz that evening so the trip downtown was worth it. Of course the time went by too fast, as usual. It was so great to spend time with family! Crazy to think that the next time we see everyone we'll have a baby in the mix!!

Matt carving up the roast for Christmas Eve dinner (love the cheesy expression)

Our first Christmas Eve dinner at our own house. My how we've grown up!

Opening gifts on Christmas Eve.

Andrea and Eric modeling the hats they just opened as presents.

I love Eric's expression in this picture. I wish I would remember what it was in response to.

Matt thought it would be funny to wrap up "gag gifts" for his family and act like they were actually thoughtful presents just to see their reaction. Eric got this denim RCS shirt (totally not his style), Andrea opened an RCS gym shirt, and Mom received some weird wall decoration of pigs in a kitchen/shadow box sort of thing. I'm pretty sure all the 'gifts' ended up being left at our house for some reason.

Friends joined us at our house for Christmas day. Matt and Cheryl Wiers and Kevin and Stephanie Anderson came over for a turkey dinner and games. We had a really great time.

We walked around looking at the lights display at The Mission Inn, complete with hot chocolate and freshly made doughnuts. Yum!
