It has been one year since we moved into our home in Redlands. I may have mentioned in posts from last summer that this house was/is something of a 'fixer-upper'. It was bank-owned for quite awhile so it required some imagination when we were first walking through it but we had a vision of what the house could be and chose to focus on that vs. what it actually looked like at the time. Since closing last June we have worked hard to make our vision a reality. It has been a learn-as-we-go process and there is still plenty we have to do but we have been enjoying this part of being home owners. It is fun to look back and see the progress we've made thus far. Check it out...
Home sweet home - June 2011
Dead front lawn, over grown bushes, vines, weeds, etc.
After one year and lots of sweat.... June 2012
Pretty much immediately after moving in last year Matt set to work pulling out bushes and vines - discovering we have a lemon tree by the mailbox (we thought it was just a mess of vines so this was a pleasant surprise). Over spring break we planted a new front lawn and painted the front door (which eventually will be replaced by a door with a window). Recently, with some help from Mom DeBoer, we picked out and planted some flowers and grasses. Major improvement! Now, onto the backyard...
