SO happy to be in the tub!
I had a hard time getting him to look at me - he was FAR more interested in the duck

"look ma, no hands! I can chew on the duck AND go for the washcloth at the same time!"
Time to actually get clean

He loves playing in his booster seat. We try to get him to sit in it and play at the table while we have our dinner - sometimes it works, other times not so much.
"Milk Martini, anyone?"
Loving the rice cereal
"Do I have something on my face?"
Reading a soft book that was given to him by a family friend. The pages are all made of cloth and make musical sounds when you push a button. Luke LOVES it and I love that he can tear at and suck on the pages and the book isn't ruined! Best of both worlds!

Mmmmm. Luke's pediatrician gave us the green light to start him on 'solids'. (I'm not sure why these foods are called 'solids' when they are anything but solid - the rice cereal we give him could really qualify as a liquid, but whatever). So far, so good. Luke's little digestive system seems to be handling the cereal well and he is doing a good job swallowing this new, thicker substance. I am still a bit confused by the whole starting solids thing, like how much to give him and when and all that, so we're taking it nice and slow. He's not quite 5 months now and most baby books/websites that I've read suggest to start solids around 6 months, so I'm not really in any hurry.
Here Matt is giving him his first taste of rice cereal.
"Its an A-Bomb, for A-Rod!"
We had to expose Luke to baseball firsthand so we took the 'whole family' to a 66ers game (the minor league team in San Bernardino). Despite the fact that the visiting team threw a 'no-hitter' it was not the most exciting game. We were all in agreement that the game was pretty boring but it was fun to go anyway. It was Jung's first baseball game too. I'm not sure who was more excited to be there, Luke or Jung...the jury is still out.
Stylish isn't it?
And the new hair style that goes with taking the wet washcloth off his head
Luke was helping daddy clean out his closet. He rolled himself under Matt's shirts and had a jolly good time playing with all the sleeves. I couldn't resist taking a few pictures.

That's it for now. I still have few videos that I want to post but our computer is ridiculously slow and I'm lacking in both time and patience. One of these days I'll get them posted, or get a new computer... we'll see. Posted by DeBoer Days at 3:22 PM 2 comments

Luke has been spitting up a LOT lately. I asked the doctor about it at his last appointment and he said it was due to Luke having a bit of a cold. I guess the congestion contributes to reflux and more spit up. Lovely.
Luke had just eaten and Matt (not knowing Luke was nice and full) held Luke up to kiss his cheeks only to get a face full of Luke Puke! You can see it on Matt's nose in this picture! Ha. Oh the joys of fatherhood.

Luke's first shiner! He's such a boy.
Our two international students are making their blog debut! We have all been adjusting pretty well. Charles and Jung get along great with one another and with us. We've learned how to say "hello, nice to meet you", "I'm hungry" and "Dude" in both Chinese and Korean! The boys laugh at our pronunciation, of course! We've also learned that they eat horses, dogs, snakes and other various animals that we would never consider eating in the United States. The other night Jung asked for some jam for his biscuit - Matt went to get it out of the fridge and asked what kind Jung would like "we have strawberry or dog". We all got a good laugh out of that. Matt= quite the comedian.
The boys are all bonding over playstation. (Jung KILLED Matt in soccer - 11 to 0) This is AFTER homework was finished, fyi.

Charles has taken a liking to Luke. He likes to play with him, hold him, and make him laugh. Since in China the families are only allowed to have one child per family he has said that it is a 'dream come true' to have a younger sibling for awhile!
View from our back patio...

Well, I had hoped to put some other videos on the blog but our computer is NOT cooperating with me. Hopefully I can get them up soon - like this month sometime! :)
