latest belly pics

These were taken at about 29 weeks pregnant. We measured around both my belly and Matt's belly... at this point we were nearly exactly the same in terms of inches around! Now that I'm at 31 weeks, I've passed him up.

I think this was around week 30. The picture is a little dark, so its harder to see, sorry. Since this shirt just hangs over my belly, I feel like it enhances it more, making it look like it pops out all the more... maybe its just me. Nice thing about this shirt is that it is NOT a maternity shirt. I had it in my closet for probably a year before getting pregnant and can still wear it! Gotta love the versatility.

Plunge Winter Retreat

Last weekend was the winter retreat for the Middle School Youth Group at our church- The Plunge. The group spent the weekend in Big Bear, CA at a church family's cabin and let me tell you, we were packed in there! I don't know the exact number of kids that went on the retreat but there were LOTS. It was a great time. Matt isn't technically a leader for the youth group but he was able to come along and hang out with the kids. The weekend was full of games, sledding, snowballs, singing, devotions, small group time, good discussions, and lots of laughs. I was even able to squeeze in a nap while the group was sledding! (it is NOT an easy thing to get a good night's sleep when you have so many kids crammed into one little bedroom, some of them talking/giggling, some snoring, etc... not to mention that I'm 30 weeks pregnant!) We got home about 12:30 or so on Sunday, dropped our bags by the door, flopped on the couch and didn't move until much later that evening. It's now Wednesday and I think we're still recovering... but it was so worth it.

I absolutely LOVE them!)

Playing card games around the table

Matt - feeling pretty tired at this point.

More card games

Outside the cabin - how many kids can we get on the teeter totter at once?

Enjoying the snow one last time before heading back to Redlands and warm weather

Miss Sheila... without her, I'm not sure I would have survived the weekend!

Some of our fearless leaders... God bless them. :)

DeBoer Christmas 08

I am just now getting around to posting our Christmas pictures, better late than never I guess. We had a wonderful time with Matt's family over the Christmas holidays. Mom DeBoer, Andrea, and Eric all flew in (Eric came in from Atlanta, Mom and Andrea from Washington.) We were so thankful that Mom and Andrea flew from Bellingham not Seattle. If they had flown out of Seatac they probably wouldn't have made it thanks to all the snow and issues at the airport (running out of de-icer and food!) We had a nice, relaxing time filled with lots of game playing, talking, eating, etc. We attempted a day in Los Angeles - first plan was to go to the Museum of Tolerance but that was closed. So we decided to head to the Getty Museum but there must've been some event going on that we were unaware of because it was a nightmere trying to even get into the parking lot, so we scrapped that and went to Starbucks instead. Thanks to Matt's studnets we are set with Starbucks giftcards for quite some time. We walked around a bit and saw an Improv Comedy show at Comedy Sportz that evening so the trip downtown was worth it. Of course the time went by too fast, as usual. It was so great to spend time with family! Crazy to think that the next time we see everyone we'll have a baby in the mix!!

Matt carving up the roast for Christmas Eve dinner (love the cheesy expression)

Our first Christmas Eve dinner at our own house. My how we've grown up!

Opening gifts on Christmas Eve.

Andrea and Eric modeling the hats they just opened as presents.

I love Eric's expression in this picture. I wish I would remember what it was in response to.

Matt thought it would be funny to wrap up "gag gifts" for his family and act like they were actually thoughtful presents just to see their reaction. Eric got this denim RCS shirt (totally not his style), Andrea opened an RCS gym shirt, and Mom received some weird wall decoration of pigs in a kitchen/shadow box sort of thing. I'm pretty sure all the 'gifts' ended up being left at our house for some reason.

Friends joined us at our house for Christmas day. Matt and Cheryl Wiers and Kevin and Stephanie Anderson came over for a turkey dinner and games. We had a really great time.

We walked around looking at the lights display at The Mission Inn, complete with hot chocolate and freshly made doughnuts. Yum!

earthquake

We had another earthquake last night. It wasn't quite as big as the one we had back in July but was still large enough to knock some pictures and other items off shelves in our house. I was out at Panera (I LOVE Panera) with a friend of mine when it hit. We pretty much just sat there watching the lights swing overhead and continued our conversation. The guy sitting next to us was a little more animated/dramatic... he yelled out "oh *bleep*! An Earthquake!" and looked side to side all freaked out, like he was ready to run out the door. He saw us calmly sitting there and I think felt a little foolish. He probably had the right idea though. If it was a more serious earthquake we really shouldn't just sit there but it was funny to watch some stranger panic. :)

28 Weeks Pregnant

Here I am at 28 weeks pregnant. I can't believe that the 3rd trimester is here already - where did the time go?

some pics, at last

Here is the lastest prego pic. I think I was around 24 or 25 weeks along. I'm currently 28 weeks so this picture is a bit outdated. We'll have to take some more and get those posted as well now that I figured out how to upload pictures.
Allow me to introduce Baby DeBoer! This is one of the ultrasound pictures - taken around week 20. You can see the spine, head and umbilical cord pretty clearly. (all four of the pictures are the same so don't spend too much time staring at each one.) And NO, we don't know what the gender is. It'll be a fun surprise come April!
